Kommunicate August 2020 product updates

Welcome to the August episode of Kommunicate product updates.

In the month of August, we have added some powerful features to Kommunicate for making your job easier. The latest release includes Rich messages support in chat conversations, Helpcenter integration with Kompose bot, latest mobile SDKs and Agent app, etc.

Web App

Rich Messages

Now we support Rich messages for videos, dropdown lists, and text areas in the chat conversation.

Videos & Youtube

Now you can render videos from any public URL and youtube in your chat conversation. You can get a sample JSON payload from our here.

Form with Dropdown list

The dropdown list allows the user to choose one value from a list. You can use it in your form templates. We support two templates – one with a default option value selected and another default value is none. Please refer to the templates and the example JSON payload from here.

Form with Textarea

You can add textarea in the forms for collecting user comments or reviews, etc. It can be used in your form templates. To try this feature, please get the JSON payload here.

Helpcenter + Kompose

Now you can easily connect your Helpcenter knowledge base with your Kompose bot and the bots created using Kompose will be able to answer your user queries from the articles/FAQs created in your Helpcenter.

To add FAQ articles: (Refer this blog for more details)

>> Go to Dashboard >> Helpcenter >> Create Articles

To Enable Kompose Helpcenter:

>> Go to Dashboard >> Bot Integration >> Kompose >> Select the bot >> Click ⚙️ Settings >> Connect Helpcenter (Enable)

Disable sound notification

Now you can enable/disable sidebox greeting message notification sound as per your requirement.

>> Go to Dashboard Settings >> CHAT WIDGET >> Greeting Message >> Enable/Disable Notification Sound.

Time stamps in chat widget

We have added labels for “Hrs ago” || “Minutes ago” || “sec ago” in for the conversation list view in the dashboard. Now you can easily identify the starting time of a particular chat.

Chat blurbs

We have refreshed the look of the dashboard conversation section. Now there will be a unique color for the chat blurbs for users, and agents with a cleaner, more understandable, and crisper look.

Bugs Fixes

  • Fixed the widget top bar UI failing when going back from the FAQ
  • Fixed the clickjack vulnerabilities in the Kommunicate Dashboard
  • Squashed the bug where some users were unable to delete their teammates
  • We have fixed the custom payload input behavior issue when trying to edit in Kompose Section
  • Resolved timestamps issue in the first response time section in the dashboard
  • Fixed a bug where some users were unable to delete their teammates

iOS SDK

We’ve released a new version of the Kommunicate iOS SDK 5.6.1:

  • Added a message character limit that will be shown if the conversation is assigned to a Dialogflow bot.
  • Fixed an issue where only the dashboard option for single thread conversation was used, not the one that was passed locally.
  • Added support for sharing documents from iCloud Drive and iPhone storage.
  • Removed the line limit in form selection items to allow the dynamic text of any size.
  • Added support for showing Agent’s away status.
  • In `createConversation()` method, `clientConversationId` will be used even when the single thread option is enabled.
  • Now, if agentIds are passed in the `createConversation()` method, then the default agent won’t be added.

Android SDK

We’ve released a new version of Kommunicate Android SDK 2.0.5:

  • Added date and time picker support in the form template.
  • We have added support for text field validation in the form template.
  • Now you can enable/disable, single conversation thread option from the dashboard.

Agent App

Updates in iOS Agent app:

  • Added support for sharing documents from iCloud Drive and iPhone storage.
  • Fixed the issue where the conversation action view did not appear in some cases.
  • Moved the status update option to the conversation action view.
  • Fixed stability and performance issues.

Updates in Android Agent app:

  • Updated UI for status change and assignee update.
  • Updated Toasts to custom Toasts for success and error messages.
  • Security improvements and other optimizations.

Coming Soon

The team feature is coming soon. In the future you will be able to assign conversations to a particular team using the team Ids.
