This May, we focused on expanding integration options, giving AI agents more configurability, and improving the overall experience across the dashboard, Agent Builder, and chat workflows.

Features

Google CX Agent Studio integration

We’ve added an integration for Google CX Studio. Now, you directly connect your Google conversational agents to Kommunicate.

Generative response settings for AI models

We’ve added a Generative response (tokenised) setting for OpenAI, Gemini, and Anthropic models in Agent Builder, giving teams more granular control over how AI responses are generated.

Voice call integration via Kommunicate

Users can now fetch a phone number for voice call integration directly from the Kommunicate dashboard, removing the need to source numbers through a third-party provider separately.

Improvements

  • We’ve improved the WhatsApp integration UI to recommend the Meta Cloud API as the preferred setup path for new users.
  • Added ‘Document’ and ‘Website’ as category options in the AI Agent Analytics dropdown, making it easier to filter and analyse performance by source type.
  • Updated the default AI agent name to “Cato” for first-time signups, and increased the character limit for agent instructions in Agent Builder.

  • AI Agent Assist responses are now rendered automatically in the chat box, reducing the steps an agent needs to take when using AI-suggested replies.
  • We’ve added validation support for pre-chat lead form scripts.
  • We’ve added hover tooltips on each model option in Agent Builder settings, so users can understand model capabilities without leaving the page.
  • The ‘Answer from web’ feature now supports recent news questions, expanding the range of queries AI agents can handle in real time.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where mail conversations would occasionally return a 500 error on group creation.
  • Fixed an issue where agent handoff triggered via instructions was not working as expected.
  • Fixed an issue where a new signup would show chat history from a previously logged-in account.
  • Fixed visual gaps in the Mailbox UI.
